Happy Tuesday AtoZer’s…Hope your week is going good. The weather is absolutely gorgeous with sun and temps in the 80’s. Believe you me that is a rarity for April in the Midwest i.e. Chicago. We could still be having snow, not kidding.
I thought this might be challenging to find a painting that I could use that the Artist did for the letter “E” but then he said just use Elvis. Of course, one of his favorite performer’s and naturally he has a few different images of The King 😉
Maybe we could do a little music with today’s post (One of my favorite songs by the King) and now I get how the Artist could do so many different looks with his painting’s. He sure was a handsome guy <3
Today’s prompt is, “No Rules.” Which I have to start out with a comment addressing someone who had to be snarky about our President who is fighting his own battle against this Plague. Unfortunately someone thinks that by following the, “Rules, i.e. I suppose wearing a face mask, blah, blah, and triple blah you are safe from this horrible virus.” Actually you are not. No matter what you do you can minimize the risk I suppose, but if this should tell you anything is that we are all at risk. Him as the President, I am quite sure they took every precaution to keep him safe from this virus, but the hater’s out there seem to think that if only he would have worn a mask then he would not have contracted the virus. N O T !!! He is our President and people should really check themselves...My mom is a retired Infection Control Nurse, the daughter is a nurse on the Covid floor at a local hospital and my sisteris also a nurse. You don’t understand how virus’s work. If they did, we would have a cure for the common cold which this virus is part of only on a more aggressive and dangerous level.
I have not worn a mask really at all. I don’t think I’m safer with a mask. I think the only people who should wear mask are the doctor’s and nurses or anyone who is in contact with infected people. Wash you hands, keep them away from your face, P E R I O D !!!! This virus is going to do what it is going to do and it is going to be over when it’s over and if anyone is responsible for the virus that would be China. I’m done with this virus, I’m so over it.
Now it’s time for my song for this Sunday…This is a song that always brings me and the husband to a great place. We sing it loud and dance it out. There are no worries when we listen to this song and if someone is down we just play it loud and proud and we forget about all our worries. He paints to this song and I plan listening to this song. Yes we are the Painter and the Planner. I think that’s kind of catchy 😉
Here’s the song…Promised Land by Elvis !!!! Enjoy
PROMISED LAND
“Promised Land”
I left my home in Norfolk Virginia California on my mind I straddled that Greyhound And rode into Raleigh And on across Caroline
We had motor trouble that turn into a struggle Halfway across Alabam’ And that hound broke down and left us all stranded In downtown Birmingham
Right away I brought me a through train ticket Ridin’ across Mississippi clean And I was on that midnight flyer out of Birmingham Smoking into New Orleans
Somebody help me get out of Louisiana Just to help me get to Houston Town There are people there who care a little about me And they won’t let the poor boy down
Sure as you’re born brought me a silk suit Put luggage in my hand And I woke up high over Alberquerque On a jet to the promised land
Working on a T-bone steak a la carte Flying over to the golden state Ah when the pilot told us in thirteen minutes He would set us at the terminal gate
Swing low chariot come down easy Taxi to the terminal zone Cut your engines and cool your wings And let me make it to the telephone
Los Angeles give me Norfolk Virginia Tidewater four ten o nine Tell the folks back home this is the promised land calling And the poor boy is on the line
Happy Song Lyric Sunday and let’s have a great week !!! Blessings Blogger’s
