I can’t believe I haven’t posted since last week. Just big blogging goal’s, I was even working on my editorial calendar (which is still a work in progress 😉 ) . It’s just gotten very busy around here all of the sudden like and I really haven’t had the time to blog. I’m busy with my spring cleaning, and I was so hoping I would have it all done by Memorial Day but that sure doesn’t look like it’s going to happen.
My Spring Cleaning has really turned into a new thing. Instead of cleaning, (which I’m not that fond of anymore, been there, done that) it’s turned into Spring Buying 😉 and Spring throwing away 🙂 … Shhh let’s keep the husband out of that. Let’s just say that my Target trips are my new workout 😉 . Don’t laugh, it’s a lot of working walking and buying and carrying it to the car, unloading, yadayadayada !!! But the house is really coming together. It’s fresh and new. I’ve been taking before and after pics and I’ll try posting them when I’m all done.

I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to come up with this idea. I just love, love, love my kitchen. What motivated me was the spring cleaning thing and the new book I was reading this month…I have really been on a reading kick this year. I have already read 4 books this year. Which is a really great thing. The first book I read, our Connor and his wife Missy bought me this one, “Where the Crawdads Sing.”

Then I went on with the next 3. I’m thinking the Cookbook Club spurred me on to get the shelf thing going in my kitchen. One thing led to another and I’m back doing something I absolutely love, love, love to do…Cooking and Baking, who knew.
The daughter came over on Mother’s Day and she just had to do the same thing, so me and her dad were over at her house last weekend. Got to do another run to Target and the husband was busy assembling them at her house. She’s having the same fun I’m having b/c of course I had to get her the Instapot for her Mother’s Day gift to go on the shelves, right 😉 … Here how her shelves are progressing <3 Absolutely loving this !!!
It was the best Mother’s Day ever !!! I’m not blogging til this morning b/c just been so busy. A really great kind of busy. Yes it was Mother’s Day weekend and I wasn’t sure how it was going to go as my kiddos are all over the the place i.e. East Coast, Midwest yadayadayada. Also the daughter is a nurse so I kind of figured she would probably have to work. So I told the husband let’s celebrate it on Saturday and all I really wanted was to go out south (where we use to live, south side of Chicago and visit our old stomping grounds). We could pick up some Aurelios Pizza (the Original one that started it all) and Krispy Kreme’s, probably the only one that’s left out here.
I just really need to put this Garth Brooks in here. I absolutely love it ♥️. It’s just the best song ever about mom’s ♥️ .
So out south we went and the weather was really crappy. Cold & windy, rainy and cloudy but I didn’t care. It’s all about the food. So off we went and I got a yummy Aurelio’s Pizza and 2 dozen Krispy Kreme’s. Needless to say they were gone by the time we got home. Well not the 2 dozen doughnuts, but the pizza was 😉 and the husband had a meatball sandwich. Those are just the empty boxes 😉😋
Then on Sunday Mother’s Day I was just going to chill and play with my planner stuff when the doorbell rings and it’s our Matthew, yes our #3 son all the way from Virginia. I was beyond happy as I haven’t seen him in a long time b/c of this whole pandemic thing, blah, blah, blah. He drove all the way here from Richmond, Virginia to just spend the day w/his mom. What a great son 🌹🌹

That was just the best surprise ever and I gave him a big hug and kiss and nothing ever felt so good as seeing and holding my son…What a great Mother’s Day ♥️. Thank you so much Matthew for choosing me as your mom ♥️ .
Matthew was able to hang around on Monday b/c he really wanted to see the sister too and all of his nieces and catch up with Cordell. So me and Matthew ran out to our favorite Sub place and picked up a bunch of subs and we all spent the afternoon together just having a ball. The grand babies just love my bed and so they were busy in grandmama’s room messing the whole thing up. Love all the giggles 🥰🥰

After the afternoon pizza party with everyone, Matthew had to hit the road. He left around 5:30pm back to Virginia which made me worry b/c I don’t like the whole driving thing cross country at night. He hugged me and told me everything would be fine and he’d stop for the night when he got tired and finish his journey home today. I got a text from him about 12:30 am telling me he was in Pittsburg and would be stopping for the night. I slept better knowing he was off the road ♥️♥️ It’s a mom thing.
After he left me and my girl’s went shopping to get a vase for the beautiful flowers b/c I’ve been spring cleaning and must have stored all my vases somewhere but we found a very pretty one and as per usual me and the daughter share a brain and we picked out the same vase 🥰 Then a quick trip to Starbucks for the girls and I dropped them home. She also brought me my absolutely favorite gift of all a new cup…I always need a new cup and this was just beautius. Loving the Hand Sanitizer from the Nurse 🤗🤗

Arrived back home last night around 8pm and our home was filled with flower’s, Happy Mother’s Day cards, and most importantly so much family love ♥️.
