Happy Monday evening. I hope everyone had a great day and you got a 3 day weekend !!!! It was raining all day here, a dreary January day. The one good thing I can say about January, and I say it every single day. “We are one day closer to January being over !!!! Y A Y
The kids came over for dinner tonight. It was Meatloaf, Onion Brown Potatoes. Lizzie brought over her corn casserole, it was yummy and I’lll have to get that recipe. I made my Ooey Gooey Cookie Bar Bake that was a nice end to it.

Spiders just creep me out. I mean how can you be afraid of something so small…Just smash it with a shoe or your foot. But whatever you do, don’t have your husband kill it b/c he hates them worse than you do and 9 x’s out of 10 he misses and it disappears under the bed!!! :0 Ahhhh OMGGGGGG

I’m certain it does. Think of your life’s timeline as a roll of toilet paper…At the start it is big and bulky and takes some coaching to come down. When it gets to the end of the roll, well it just spins out of control right til it’s empty 😉 Am I right ??? You know I am 😉

I usually start the week with Monday’s Masterpiece. Father’s Day was great !!!! Dad and I will be going to a lot of baseball games…Y A Y <3 . Thank you to our Son’s Matthew and Connor. You made Dad’s day great !!!! Lizzie had to work but we are going to hook up later this week 😉 .
That’s where it all started at Comiskey Park which is now Cellular Field … Our first date was July 16, 1976 the Chicago White Sox vs. the Milwaukee Brewer’s before they went to the National League. Yes I’ve been with my sweets for 45 years and we will be celebrating our 42nd wedding anniversary this August <3 …
It was definitely a Father’s Day to remember. It was hot and they said it was going to be a stormy day and for anyone who knows me, knows I’m a weather geek for sure. I watched the storm all day. It hung out west all day so I was thinking it wasn’t going to be anything.
They upgraded us to a Severe Thunderstorm Watch. I went outside about 10:30 pm to just see what was going on. It was coming, but I still wasn’t worried. The wind started picking up and the husband joined me in the garage and I started getting the feeling things were going to go south pretty quick. I knew they were going to blow the sirens too, b/c they always do no matter.
No sooner did I have that thought the storm hit fast & hard !!!! Sirens blowing so it’s time to go in. I don’t have a basement so me and Rosie (our chicago brown dog) went into the bathroom and prayed b/c this storm was not fooling around. I told the husband to go look and see how bad it was and he said, “What am I suppose to stop the tornado.” I said, “Of course your are, your the guy and last time I checked that was a guy job ;). ” Thank god it was over fast, and boy were we lucky. We were probably 3 houses away, literally !!! Well here is what my neighborhood looks like this morning, and it’s not pretty….It will be a long week cleaning up…
No fatalities but a couple of people did end up in the hospital. Prayers for everyone who’s Monday has been a hard one !!! Blessings and to all <3 .
I guess it’s just happy everything day <3 I’m going to throw this blog post up quickly while the husband is out walking our Rosie (thechicagobrowndog, no that’s really a breed 😉 )
We sure do love her. Took her up and got her a bath today, new collar, new toy. We do love our doogie <3 Very special dog !!!! Now I’ll get back to the blog.
It’s been a really great holiday weekend…Family, food and fun which is always a great way to start out the summer…Y A Y Must add some music for today…Let’s Rock n Roll !!!! This one’s for my Connor…Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap !!!!
We spent Saturday running errands for our get together with our daughter and her family, her Guy, Cordell and his mom GiGi and of course the granddaughters !!! Everyone is just growing up so fast. Here are some pics of the family <3 We love you all to the moon and me and GiGi dressed the same right down to our jewelry and we didn’t even coordinate it that way. We are truly one brain 😉 .
The food was amazing…We did the BBQ with out of this world grill packets filled with all sort of yummy food. Shrimp, Chicken, potatoes, veggies…So good and Mr. Cordell did an amazing job on the grill !!!!
I brought some side dishes …Apple Snicker Salad and Baked Beans along with the Small Cakes for dessert…
Time to get my summer on because before you know it, it’s 4th of July and the summer is over Mr. Nightlinger 😉 Three birthdays, Matthew/June, Connor/July, Me, Lizzie, & Missy/August and throw in an anniversary and the summer just flies by. Add a vaca somewhere, not quite sure where yet, but yes I think the summer really is over.

Well I’m not sure it has to be either or, but I think for most of my life I was the nice person and that was my problem. When I turned into the blankety, blank I enjoyed being happy and realized that life is short … eat the cake 😉 .

Are you a dreamer or a go-getter? I’m more of dreamer. It’s more fun to dream, being a go-getter brings stress. There is more joy in dreams <3 .

Do you feel gratitude is necessary? Gratitude is how I get through my day. Being thankful can cure anything. My gratitude journal sits right beside my bed on my nightstand.

I’m going topic off a bit. I usually concentrate on one of the Artist’s Masterpiece’s that he worked on over the weekend, but this weekend I took the Artist out for a treat. Actually it was his Christmas Present. For Christmas this past year I bought him tickets to Immersive Van Gogh Exhibit in Chicago.
It was amazing !!! Just take a look and see for yourself 🙂 Much better live !!!
I got to take a few souvenirs home with me so that too was kind of exciting !!!
I just had to put up some music with this too. One of my Favorite songs of all time…
The artist had a really great time and so did I. I even saw a lot of Vincent Van Gogh Painting’s that looked a little familiar…Definitely a very deep, complex man.
