Monday’s Masterpiece

Happy Monday fellow blogger’s. I hope everyone had a great weekend. They do go by so fast though. Mine was really busy which is a good thing and the weather was really good !!!

Monday’s Masterpiece will always be the featured picture of the blog post, unless I change it. In that case, I will let you know… 😉 Today’s Monday’s Masterpiece is one of my favorites. The Artist (Husband) painted this one for me and had it framed. It is hanging in my Kitchen and I just love it. The title of it is, “Basket of Apples”.

The Artist was painting a lot this weekend. Here are a few of the images he is currently working on…

I bought myself some flowers this weekend and that always bring a smile to my face 🙂

Pretty Weekend Flowers

One more picture to share. I found the cousin picture that I was looking for. I did a post on St. Patrick’s Day of the 1st Cousin’s picture, then I found the later one where we are older <3 There were a lot of us…

1st Cousin Picture

I am one of four sister’s…We are on the end, stage left. Sister Liz is in the green dress, I’m down in front of Sister Liz, with my hand in my mouth…Sister Kay is to the left of me and Mary the oldest Sister has her hand around Sister Kay’s shoulder. We were close in age, only 4 years separating all of us from oldest Mary, to the youngest me…Let’s just say, high school was interesting for our dad.

2nd Cousin Picture/At the Farm/Family Reunioun

It was kind of fun this weekend b/c we were all trying to figure out who was who and what year it was. Kind of a, “Where’s Waldo,” game… The years do fly by. I’m in the middle with the pig tails and red/white/blue striped shirt and the girl directly in back of me is my oldest sister Mary, and the one right next to Mary (stage right) is my older sister Liz. Another one of my sister’s is all the way on the end (stage left) I guess you might think I was a theater mom 😉 and you’d be right. Kay was all in blue with kind of a wonky look on her face. I’m glad I wasn’t the only one who wasn’t smiling. When the cousin’s get together, we all talk about this picture and how glad we were that Aunt Patti made us take the picture..Two more cousins were born after the picture but we never got another one taken with all the cousins.

This week looks to be warmer and wetter and then maybe even some snow… I really hate March but I’ll take the couple of warmer days. At least we are getting closer to April <3 . I’m going to be setting up my new planner which I don’t have a name for her yet. I’ll probably be posting a lot about that. Also I am working on getting our site for #Elan Creations up and running again, definitely stay tuned for that.

Have a Happy Monday and a great week !!! Blessings Blogger’s <3 …

Grammy Party…

It’s been a great Sunday spent with the family, our daughter and her guy Mr. Cordell, his Mom, GiGi and our adorable and I do mean A D O R A B L E grand daughter’s. Well you see for yourself how adorb they are….

Our Granddaughter’s…

Here’s me and GiGi w/the family <3
Here’s Grandpapa & GiGi and the family <3

When my daughter (the nurse) invited us over, she said we were going to have, “A Grammy Party…” I thought she meant a Grandmama party, but then she put on the Grammy’s and got it. I got that I’m really old 😉 Deep Dish Chicago Pizza, Buntini’s (dessert) and the family made for a great Sunday and no one really even watched the Grammy’s. (No worries, we are all part of the bubble so no Covid here 😉 Actually GiGi is also a nurse so we were following protocol.

Having a major Snowstorm tomorrow…I hate March in the Midwest. Ironically the book that I am reading now is, “The Children’s Blizzard.” Will Spring ever get here !!!

I’m taking pics and videos of the storm, so stay tuned for Monday & Tuesday’s Post…I’m working on picking out Monday’s Masterpiece too.

QUESTIONS:

If you could throw any kind of party, what would it be for?  (Covid considerations are suspended for this question)

I think the best kind of party is a surprise birthday party…Such a happy occasion and I love, love, love to surprise people…Especially those that I love <3 S U R P R I S E … Y A Y

Is a picture worth a thousand words? Elaborate.

OMG absolutely !!!! I’ve got a few that mean so very much to me…

Generations
Family Love

Grandpapa/Missy/Cordell/Lizzie/Connor/Mariah & Olivia (Our gorgeous granddaughter’s) Gabriella’s (older sister) she’s somewhere and I’m taking the picture (Grandmama) Best Christmas picture ever !!!! Love you all <3 .

Where IS Waldo?   (Waldo, for those unfamiliar with him, is a cartoon character featured in many “find Waldo” images and puzzles)      <——  WALDO

What’s the best part of waking up?

I’ve been blessed with a new day…A whole 24 hours to do with whatever I want and having that 1st cup of Coffee. My Coffee it the best !!!!

Would you rather be covered in fur or covered in scales?   (Wee disclaimer.  I’m certainly not advocating the slaughter of creatures and the use of their skins for clothing or accessories.  No!  This question is a ‘grow your own’ type question…if you had an option of your own skin being made of fur OR scales, which would you choose?)

OMG what’s the question FUR…

GRATITUDE SECTION (Always optional)

Monday’s Masterpiece

Happy Monday, Blogging fam…Hoping everyone had the best weekend ever and that your team won yesterday. We had didn’t have a dog in the race so all we did was make fun food. I tried my hand at a, “Beautiful Board !!”

It was so good and sooo much fun to make. I added some Queso Dip w/Pretzel Bread and some little smoky’s with sauce, very delicious <3 .

The husband has been working on on The Potato People, oops I mean the Potato Eater’s…Here is his progression.

Looking good

Finally today we are still freezing and yes it’s snowing again but I’m indoors with the love of my life, the husband and this morning when we went out to get coffee I remember why I fell in love with him. We had our singing moment, love the singing brings me back to when we were a couple of kids just loving life. Here’s the song we were singing too, we each know our parts 😉 Enjoy

A Work in Progress…Monday’s Masterpiece

The Artist is still working on the Potato People i.e. Eater’s…Looking good so far. He keeps saying you have to remember this guy (Vincent) was a CooCoo Bird. I guess you might draw that conclusion from looking at this painting. I think you might have to dig a little deeper than that though. Here is how he’s progressing with Monday’s Masterpiece…

The Artist looking at the computer and Rose sleeping <3
The Potato Eater’s
This is where he left off on Sunday Evening…

It’s coming along nicely don’t you think. We spent most of the weekend indoors b/c of all the snow. Binge watching, “Friends” of all things. That was Saturday night and then yesterday was, “The Dead Poets Society” and we watched the Chicago Blackhawk’s vs. CBJ win Y A Y…

QUESTIONS:

If the government offered to suspend all laws, and law enforcement for 24 hours, letting you (and everybody else) do whatever you wish… Would you be in favor of it, or not?  (Credit for this question goes to Cyranny and her Daily Quickie Question)

Never, No Way, Not for one little miniute…We have laws now and nobody follows them now or enforces them and look at the mess it has created…

What would be the creepiest thing you could say while passing a stranger on the street?(We’re suspending the whole social distancing and Covid involvement in this scenario)

“When you pass that guy sitting in the chair, see if he’s breathing. “

As a child, what did you think would be great about being an adult, but isn’t as great as you thought it would be?

Going to bed when I wanted or sleeping as late as I wanted…

What, in your opinion, has been blown way out of proportion?

Oh that’s an easy one, Covid19And they keep it going, and going, and going…

Gratitude Section (Optional as always)

Where is your ‘happy’ place?

Forever and always <3 .

Monday’s Masterpiece

Good Monday Morning Blogger’s. Hope all are having a great start to their week, I am. In fact Monday is probably one of my fav’s !!! Always love, love, love the beginning of anything, so many possibilities. It’s fresh, it’s new and that’s always a good thing.

Sorry, I digress back to Monday’s Masterpiece. I’m really loving this one for a couple of reasons. First would be it is my 3rd Son and always love pictures/painting of my kiddo’s. Second, it’s Ballet and anything that has to do with that well that says it all. The Artist i.e. husband has really out done himself this time <3 Drumroll please…..

Really loving this painting !!! What do you think ???

Good bye Mz. Bella

You were loved and you were my friend…Thank you so much for all the joy you brought to our family <3 Blessings Dear Bella <3 You will be missed. RIP <3

Rudyard Kipling

“The Power of the Dog”

There is sorrow enough in the natural way
From men and women to fill our day;
And when we are certain of sorrow in store,
Why do we always arrange for more?
Brothers and Sisters, I bid you beware
Of giving your heart to a dog to tear.

Buy a pup and your money will buy
Love unflinching that cannot lie --
Perfect passion and worship fed
By a kick in the ribs or a pat on the head.
Nevertheless it is hardly fair
To risk your heart for a dog to tear.

When the fourteen years which Nature permits
Are closing in asthma, or tumour, or fits,
And the vet's unspoken prescription runs
To lethal chambers or loaded guns,
Then you will find -- it's your own affair --
But . . . you've given your heart to a dog to tear.

When the body that lived at your single will,
With its whimper of welcome, is stilled (how still!)
When the spirit hat answered your every mood
Is gone -- wherever it goes -- for good,
You will discover how much you care,
And will give your heart to a dog to tear.

We've sorrow enough in the natural way,
When it comes to burying Christian clay.
Our loves are not given, but only lent,
At compound interest of cent per cent.
Though it is not always the case, I believe,
That the longer we've kept'em, the more do we grieve;

For, when debts are payable, right or wrong,
A short-time loan is as bad as a long --
So why in -- Heaven (before we are there)
Should we give our hearts to a dog to tear?
