AtoZ Challenge Theme Reveal…

I’m not sure how many years I have done this challenge, but this is where I started out on my blog and I’ve always enjoyed AtoZ. My theme for 2023 is Queen Elizabeth and The Royals.

I have always loved Queen Elizabeth plus The Royal’s always have some kind of drama going on. I really want to learn about them too, i.e. their history. What better way to learn about HRH and the Royals, in concert with one of your other passion’s which is writing for me, and of course blogging.

When I was a young married, it all started by me staying awake and watching the young Diana Spencer marry her Prince and becoming a Princess…We all know how that turned out which wasn’t good. But that was just the beginning for me.

Here I am again digging into the Royal’s which I believe is going to be so much fun, all while learning about them. The husband bought me, “The Queen” for Christmas so that’s probably where I’m going to get a lot of my info. I’ll be reading the book that will help me out with the daily prompts. I was saving this book for vaca in a couple of weeks, but it’s a pretty long book so I’ll still have plenty of reading to do while I’m on the road 🙂 … I have already started reading and she really had an amazing life. I’m going to do my best and hope you’ll enjoy learning about the Queenie right along with me.

I’m looking forward to this challenge and I hope I make some new blogging friends. Let’s light this party !!!! Everyone have the best weekend ever !!! Blessings fellow bloggers.

I guess I’ll be starting from scratch but at least I’m starting !! I’d hoped to have my blog’s new look up and running but not so much. I just have to get busy with AtoZ as we are already on the letter ” D ” OMG…

I started this blog with the idea of writing my cookbook. I am still moving in that direction and AtoZ will keep me focused. I am doing R E C I P E S from the family vault…Not really, but family favorites from Scarlett79.

AtoZ Challenge/Letter

The Artist does really well when it comes to sketching & painting real people. Everyone he has ever recreated in his artwork, he brings that person alive with feeling albeit in a very subtle way…The 1st person is Winston (C)hurchill, a graphite sketch as his medium and the 2nd painting is an oil …

Winston Churchill

These next two sketches are using a graphite medium and they are (C)owboy’s i.e. John Wayne…

The Shootist/John Bernard Books

True Grit/Rooster Cogburn

My final choice for today is a sketch he did in graphite for me personally and put it right in front on my desk where I would see it first thing every morning. It is a graphite sketch of Leonard Cohen who wrote and recorded the song, “Hallelujah.” He was a tortured artist who worked very hard to get this piece of music done. It has a fascinating back story. I hope you’ll take a minute and read about it. I promise you it will give a whole new meaning to this song and the person who wrote it !!!

This is one of my all time favorite songs !!!

I thought I would do a couple more of the Artist for the letter

Paintings b/c he just has so many very cool ones. It’s hard to choose…

Happy April and AtoZ Begins Today and it’s Letter “A”

Yay, yay for AtoZ…My theme is the Artist’s (i.e. husband’s) original artwork. I was worried I would not have enough original paintings to get me through the alphabet, but after I started adding to my media library…No worries, I have plenty !!!

My Husband (the love of my life) The Artist <3

Today I will start out with a short bio on the Artist…He is my husband of 42 years. His day job is a suit in the city selling commercial title insurance w/an MBA in finance, because we like to eat and live indoors. He is not a starving artist. He paints at night after work. Sometimes I’ll see the light on in his studio at 1/2 in the morning. Some day when we can retire, it will be out to the Atlantic Ocean where we can set up shop and sell his painting’s and he can paint more. He gets his inspiration from the Sea.

The letter today is

Today I will feature one of my favorite painting’s from the Artist. He painted if for me and the title is “(A)pples in a Basket.” I just love it. It hangs in our kitchen and whenever I look at it, I think of him. I remember him painting it and I had no idea it was going to be a gift for me. I will always treasure it <3 .

Masterpiece Monday/AtoZ Theme Reveal

A new challenge and this is one of my fav’s of all time, AtoZ Theme Reveal I’m pretty sure I haven’t done this one before. I have chose the Artistst’s Artwork. Having been pretty much home for the last year, thank you Covid19, not…The husband has been able to do a lot of paintings. I’m pretty sure I have A to Z in the paintings. Will be looking forward to this challenge. Here is the latest one he is now working on…

Old Port/Portland, ME

We lived in Portland, ME for a short time and hopefully we will be able to get back their. It is a beautiful place and we both want to live their again…I know the weather and winter’s are quite the challenge but we are born and raised Chicagoan’s so we know the drill. I have most of his painting’s named so it should probably work out well. I’ve kept the names rather simple. I might add that all of his work is for sale (a bit of self promotion) which I hope is allowed. I also have a widget on the right of his artwork, “Elan Creations” which will bring you to Amazon Handmade.

I hope you will enjoy the artwork. He is a very talented artist. Never took a lesson at all, The Artist Wife <3 .
