Happy Tuesday AtoZer’s…Hope your week is going good. The weather is absolutely gorgeous with sun and temps in the 80’s. Believe you me that is a rarity for April in the Midwest i.e. Chicago. We could still be having snow, not kidding.
I thought this might be challenging to find a painting that I could use that the Artist did for the letter “E” but then he said just use Elvis. Of course, one of his favorite performer’s and naturally he has a few different images of The King 😉
Maybe we could do a little music with today’s post (One of my favorite songs by the King) and now I get how the Artist could do so many different looks with his painting’s. He sure was a handsome guy ❤
All of the Artist’s paintings can be purchased on the above link. Have a great rest of your Tuesday, thanks for stopping by. Blessings ❤ .
The first painting he did around this past Christmas. It is a painting of our son Matthew who had an amazing Dance career.
For my next choice is a painting he did of a door. It’s a sweet door of cottage somewhere…
My final choice for today’s letter is a painting he worked on during the lockdown and all this Covid Pandemic … It really says it all…
These are my choice for today. I hope you are enjoying all of his amazing artwork. Remember we have a site where all of this artwork can be purchased. Just use the link below to go to his Amazon site. Blessings AtoZ Bloggers’s ❤ . I hope your Easter was great. Happy Monday, Happy Week ❤ .
The Artist does really well when it comes to sketching & painting real people. Everyone he has ever recreated in his artwork, he brings that person alive with feeling albeit in a very subtle way…The 1st person is Winston (C)hurchill, a graphite sketch as his medium and the 2nd painting is an oil …
These next two sketches are using a graphite medium and they are (C)owboy’s i.e. John Wayne…
My final choice for today is a sketch he did in graphite for me personally and put it right in front on my desk where I would see it first thing every morning. It is a graphite sketch of Leonard Cohen who wrote and recorded the song, “Hallelujah.” He was a tortured artist who worked very hard to get this piece of music done. It has a fascinating back story. I hope you’ll take a minute and read about it. I promise you it will give a whole new meaning to this song and the person who wrote it !!!
I have picked out 3 paintings for today’s post…I told you at the start I would have no trouble with finding an original painting for each letter in the AtoZ Challenge.
My first choice is the painting titled, “Boots” I really love this one because I see apassion in his work… He has always had an amazing work ethic and this painting has that certain feeling to it … He has always been an extremely hard worker, he just doesn‘t quit and quite frankly that is why he had me at, “Hello” ❤ .
My second choice is one of the Artist’s favorite thing to paint and that is the Beach…I’m sure that is where his heart lives and breathes…
The third choice for the letter “B” is going to be, “Boat”. I have named this boat, “The Tradewinds”…
As I revisit his paintings’s, I am reminded just what a talented artist he is ❤ I hope you are enjoying his beautius artwork ❤ Happy Friday, Happy Easter…
Rememberyou can check out his artwork for sale on the link below….Enjoy your weekend AtoZ blogger’s
Yay, yay for AtoZ…My theme is the Artist’s (i.e. husband’s) original artwork. I was worried I would not have enough original paintings to get me through the alphabet, but after I started adding to my media library…No worries, I have plenty !!!
Today I will start out with a short bio on the Artist…He is my husband of 42 years. His day job is a suit in the city selling commercial title insurance w/an MBA in finance, because we like to eat and live indoors. He is not a starving artist. He paints at night after work. Sometimes I’ll see the light on in his studio at 1/2 in the morning. Some day when we can retire, it will be out to the Atlantic Ocean where we can set up shop and sell his painting’s and he can paint more. He gets his inspiration from the Sea.
The letter today is
Today I will feature one of my favorite painting’s from the Artist. He painted if for me and the title is “(A)pples in a Basket.” I just love it. It hangs in our kitchen and whenever I look at it, I think of him. I remember him painting it and I had no idea it was going to be a gift for me. I will always treasure it ❤ .
I especially enjoy this one in the fall…Enjoy All of his painting’s are available for purchase over at Handmade by Amazon…Link below…
Good Luck AtoZer’s…I’ll be following ❤ Happy Spring
I’m going topic off a bit. I usually concentrate on one of the Artist’s Masterpiece’s that he worked on over the weekend, but this weekend I took the Artist out for a treat. Actually it was his Christmas Present. For Christmas this past year I bought him tickets to Immersive Van Gogh Exhibit in Chicago.
It was amazing !!! Just take a look and see for yourself 🙂 Much better live !!!
I got to take a few souvenirs home with me so that too was kind of exciting !!!
I just had to put up some music with this too. One of my Favorite songs of all time…
The artist had a really great time and so did I. I even saw a lot of Vincent Van Gogh Painting’s that looked a little familiar…Definitely a very deep, complex man.
Okay I’ll share one more…He’s been a very busy painter !!!
Okay just one more b/c this was definitely at the show !!!
Looking forward to AtoZ which starts in a couple of days…April 1st to be exact. I got worried that I didn’t have enough art to make it through the AtoZ…Well I have plenty of art and then some. Really looking forward to sharing it with you. Check back on Wednesday where I’l have a bio on the Artist 😉 (Husband) . He really is very talented !!!
Happy Saturday and Spring will finally arrive tonight I think that’s what they say. I’ll be asleep when it gets here at like 4 am. Just breaking the ice and browsing the reader and came upon these questions from my fellow blogger Mz. Janet . Great questions and looking forward to AtoZ.
What is your favorite quote. I collect them. “Fate whisper’s to the warrior, You cannot withstand the storm !!! The warrior whisper’s back, I am the storm !!!”
If money were no object where would you go? Alaska, I love, love, love that state…I have never been there but the adventures look endless and the weather has got to be totally amazing to experience.
How many places have you lived or jobs have you held? I have lived in two places, Chicago, IL and Portland, ME…I have really only had two jobs, the 1st working for the Illinois Central Gulf RR, Commuter Side/Randolph Street Station, Chicago IL and my present job for the last 42 years, Wife/Mother/Homemaker which I have loved every minute of ❤ …
Have you tried meditation? Not in the conventional way but yes… Did it help you? It always helps. I consider mediation laying down, quieting all the noise in my mind and goingto a place I have been that I loved or imagining doing something that I think would be amazing i.e. vacationing, moving to a place I would love to live. So many things and thoughts that bring me so much comfort.
Who would you like to meet (living or dead) for dinner? I don’t know if this would count, but I would have to say Jesus…So many questions I have to ask and I could finally get an answer in person. Why, about so many things, what about tomorrow, when will it all be okay or when will this stop or go away. I’m not sure I would want to hear the answers but it might be comforting just sitting there talking with him. Of course I have had many conversations, albeit one-sided with him b/c, well you know. He’s a constant in my life and every day. I’ve just always talked with him 😉 and those conversations have given me peace and kept me going in the right direction.
A new challenge and this is one of my fav’s of all time, AtoZ Theme Reveal I’m pretty sure I haven’t done this one before. I have chose the Artistst’s Artwork. Having been pretty much home for the last year, thank you Covid19, not…The husband has been able to do a lot of paintings. I’m pretty sure I have A to Z in the paintings. Will be looking forward to this challenge. Here is the latest one he is now working on…
We lived in Portland, ME for a short time and hopefully we will be able to get back their. It is a beautiful place and we both want to live their again…I know the weather and winter’s are quite the challenge but we are born and raised Chicagoan’s so we know the drill. I have most of his painting’s named so it should probably work out well. I’ve kept the names rather simple. I might add that all of his work is for sale (a bit of self promotion) which I hope is allowed. I also have a widget on the right of his artwork, “Elan Creations” which will bring you to Amazon Handmade.
I hope you will enjoy the artwork. He is a very talented artist. Never took a lesson at all, The Artist Wife ❤ .
