SoCs & #JusJoJan

When it comes to, “killing two birds w/one stone” you can count it on my participation. That was a very lame use of that phrase, but I think in can work. Sorry Mz. Linda, I tried 😉 …

Back to SoCS…Had a great Saturday, Mani/Pedi and a 9 hour house wake-up. How do you erase your stream of consciousness??? I did though. Husband is still working on Mr. Paul Newman and it’s looking good. I’ll feature maybe on Monday’s Masterpiece. I guess I could sneak a peak at his progress on the painting…This picture was streaming through my consciousness 😉 …

Had leftover Spaghetti & Meatloaf again. It is very delicious to use leftover meatloaf in your new spaghetti sauce. Very tasty and I made some Gooey Sugar Cookie Bar for dessert. House is cleaned and life is just moving along, no complaints from this lady.

I’m just glad I got this up for today…See y’all tomorrow for Song Lyric Sunday. Hope everything is good in your corner of the world. It’s movie night at # thename and if you know what that is then good for you <3 . Blessings Blogger’s for a quiet Saturday evening…

Day is done…I must get out of the January Dumps. So here I am for the January Challenge. The prompt today is, “Phantom”. When I hear that word, I think of “Phantom of the Opera” yes the musical. This is from my old day’s of when I wore the hat of Musical Theatre Mom. It was a fun time of life for me and yes I do miss it. Also a great musical for sure, one of my fav’s. Happy Friday and let’s hope we don’t get a snow storm next week. I mean we’ve come this far with nary a flake of snow, so know you don’t get to make up for lost time next week. Snow go away.

#JusJoJan

The devil whispered into my ear today, “You cannot withstand the storm.” I looked back at the devil and whispered into his ear today, “I am the S T O R M.”

Hump Day…Woot, Woot

#JusJoJan

Happy Monday evening. I hope everyone had a great day and you got a 3 day weekend !!!! It was raining all day here, a dreary January day. The one good thing I can say about January, and I say it every single day. “We are one day closer to January being over !!!! Y A Y

The kids came over for dinner tonight. It was Meatloaf, Onion Brown Potatoes. Lizzie brought over her corn casserole, it was yummy and I’lll have to get that recipe. I made my Ooey Gooey Cookie Bar Bake that was a nice end to it.

2023 Resolution

I did not make any resolution’s this year but I have to say this is one of my favorite days of the entire year !!!! I love, love, love New Year’s Day. A brand new year with brand new possibilities, a blank slate. It is always so exciting in my world !!!

I always say, “Write it down, Make it happen.” I learned from making lists that this is the key. Writing things down does make it happen, it almost makes it real. Today I really did nothing today but just being happy b/c it’s a new year.

This is going to be my first challenge of the year…Just Jot January 2023

Merry Christmas, 2022

So for today, it’s Sunday so it’s my day off and tomorrow I will start my new planner. We will have a year of first’s again and those are so exciting. I’m not going to say too much of those first’s b/c I have discovered an evil troll who has done some very mean things and I would expect nothing less from that person/people b/c they just aren’t very good people. I have one thing to say to those mean, horrible people. What goes around, comes around so you had better be careful because good always overcomes bad, horrible people !!!! You know who you are and so do I. You know I have a song for everything, and this is not my song for SLS. This song is for you, I know who you are. Believe me, I’m watching and it wasn’t hard to figure out who did this. This song is for you 😉 …

Back Stabbers

There’s a reason when people leave your world and I’ve learned God’s in control and he takes the people out of your life who will be no good for you. He’ll deal with them and that’s good enough for me. The best thing to do is to live a good life and be happy and I choose that.

SoCS & JusJoJan…

Your prompt for #JusJoJan and Stream of Consciousness Saturday is: “a rainy day.” Write about the first thing that comes to mind when you think of the phrase “a rainy day.” Enjoy!

That is my favorite kind of day…Spring rainy days are good as long as they are warm. Summer rainy days are good, love the thunderstorms and Fall rainy days are probably the best. Dark and comfortable as long as I can sleep in. They are the, “Maybe I’ll start some soup”kind of days that I love, love, love.

I’m pretty sure the only time I get a bit weary of rain is during the Winter. Winter in Chicago it is definitely not suppose to rain and if it does, I’m pretty sure were in for some nasty weather !!!

I too also love the smell of rain, so comforting

When it rains, remember the rainbows <3

I’m sure it will be sometime before the rain comes. Happy the snow storms seem to be going south. About 2 months before were almost done with the cold. March can be very wonky.

So excited got a prompt up in jusjojan…It’s on January 25th and the prompt is, “Journal”… Thank you so much Mz. Linda <3

Enjoy your weekend blogger’s <3 .

Tempest in a teapot and storm in a teacup

tempest in a teapot is a small problem or event that has been blown out of proportion. A tempest in a teapot is an American idiom, the British equivalent is a storm in a teacup. Other languages have similar idioms, including the French une tempete dans un verre d’eau, or a storm in a glass of water. The basic sentiment of a tempest in a teapot and a storm in a teacup seems to have originated in 52 B.C.E. in the writings of Cicero, in a phrase that translates as stirring up billows in a ladle. The Duke of Ormand, in a letter written in 1678, refers to something that is but a storm in a cream bowl. Both of the idioms a tempest in a teapot and a storm in a teacup seem to have originated in Scotland in the early half of the 1800s.

Who knew the reference was that. Like I said I always do what comes to mind first. When I looked at the prompt for #jusjojan and it was, “Tempest” this is what I thought of. Not only that in my reading for the New Year it said to learn something new everyday. Two birds with one stone, except I’m a day late as per usual with the prompt.

There are many times in my life I have experienced a, “Tempest in a Teapot 😉 ” I think that would be a good thing to control. Keeping life in a calmer perspective…How important is something ???

Like just not giving a care to how my blog is looking right now. Still trying to figure out this wonky wordpress…Whatever 😉 another snow storm is on the way but I don’t care. It’s Saturday and I’m in my warm house with my two favorite people, the husband and Rosie (albeit she’s our doogie <3 . )

Our Rosie <3
Sullivan’s Christmas Eve <3
What will be, will be Que Sera, Sera <3

I’m setting up my planner and going to have my leftover’s from dinner at Rosebud’s last night, so it’s all good.

Thankful Thursday…

I always like to think about all I have to be thankful for. Being grateful and thankful are the key to being happy. I have experienced many things in my life that were a challenge and if you’ve followed my blog you know many of them. I must admit though I am grateful for those experiences because they taught me much about life and myself.

All of them made me a stronger and better version of myself and for that I’m truly thankful for. I came out on the other side of it all a little wiser and learned that when life happens you just have to hold on a little tighter and realize you are not in control. There is something bigger than you and has a plan for your life. I have learned that you have to trust in that plan and believe it all happens for our good. I pray a lot and that has gotten me through all of it b/c sometimes that’s all you can do. The higher power is in control and I believe in God and his plan for me to get back to him.

When we were young <3 … 1990’s

After having my children and experience the gift of being a mom and seeing my children being born that is when I knew there was a God b/c only something that grand could create something so perfect. He took one from me, a son Sean Patrick, but that was all part of his plan. I didn’t understand it at the time and I don’t really understand it still. One thing I do know though is it was part of his plan for me and I have an angel in heaven. It made me a better mother and for that I’m grateful for. We will meet again <3 . I am have been blessed with 5 children and for that I will always be thankful for. Blessings Blogger’s and remember to say thank you at the end of the day and thank you when you are given a new day. Happy, Happy 2022 <3 .

January Blogging Challenge/Widget So I thought I throw in my #jusjojan challenge for todayThe prompt for today is “Anticipation” and again I usually will do the first thing that come to mind. Today that would be a song by Carly Simon. https://youtu.be/PDJ_Mz8ftqI

January Blogging Challenge/Widget

Today I’ll get to catch up on #jusjojanThe prompt for today is “Generosity.” Another great word!!! It brings positive thoughts of kindness and consideration. Both of what the world could use a lot of at this time.

” gen-er-os-i-ty…noun I was overwhelmed by the generosity of friends and neighbors <3 . It is so much better to give than receive. Saying that, You cannot keep it, unless you give it away … Which is true about so much in life <3 …
