AtoZ Challenge Theme Reveal…

I’m not sure how many years I have done this challenge, but this is where I started out on my blog and I’ve always enjoyed AtoZ. My theme for 2023 is Queen Elizabeth and The Royals.

I have always loved Queen Elizabeth plus The Royal’s always have some kind of drama going on. I really want to learn about them too, i.e. their history. What better way to learn about HRH and the Royals, in concert with one of your other passion’s which is writing for me, and of course blogging.

When I was a young married, it all started by me staying awake and watching the young Diana Spencer marry her Prince and becoming a Princess…We all know how that turned out which wasn’t good. But that was just the beginning for me.

Here I am again digging into the Royal’s which I believe is going to be so much fun, all while learning about them. The husband bought me, “The Queen” for Christmas so that’s probably where I’m going to get a lot of my info. I’ll be reading the book that will help me out with the daily prompts. I was saving this book for vaca in a couple of weeks, but it’s a pretty long book so I’ll still have plenty of reading to do while I’m on the road 🙂 … I have already started reading and she really had an amazing life. I’m going to do my best and hope you’ll enjoy learning about the Queenie right along with me.

I’m looking forward to this challenge and I hope I make some new blogging friends. Let’s light this party !!!! Everyone have the best weekend ever !!! Blessings fellow bloggers.

Song Lyric Sunday…

Yay for music and song lyric sunday…Been off the blog for a bit, but always love the music challenges so I think I’ll jump in. You’ll have to forgive me Mr. Jim as I am feeling for a different genre. I guess it has to do with being in the cold, rainy March weather. Couldn’t be any farther from seashore weather than I am.

I’m feeling more like country and Kris Kristofferson, Johnny Cash, and Willy & Waylon, “The Highwaymen.” Totally loving Kris, and this song <3 . What a great musician and song writer. Love Johnny Cash, less he reminds me too much of someone I don’t have any use for anymore and I’ll leave it at that. Willy and Waylon always make me feel good so for today it’s going to be them and the song I’m choosing is, “Me and Bobby Mcgee.” Kris Kristoferson wrote that you know. What an amazing talent and really a great guy to dream about…shhhhh, don’t let the husband know b/c he’s really my guy I dream about. Kris is probably looking his age now and the husband is still gorgeous and he’s all mine <3 …

The Highwaymen/Me & Bobby McGee

I just really fell in love with this song and the video…Blessings on your Sunday and your week. I hope you enjoy this as much as I do !!!

The lyrics are a bit different from this video, but I like their version better than Janis Joplin’s song lyrics…

Busted flat in Baton Rouge, waitin’ for a train
When I’s feelin’ near as faded as my jeans
Bobby thumbed a diesel down, just before it rained
And rode us all the way into New Orleans

I pulled my harpoon out of my dirty red bandana
I’s playin’ soft while Bobby sang the blues
Windshield wipers slappin’ time, I’s holdin’ Bobby’s hand in mine
We sang every song that driver knew

Freedom is just another word for nothin’ left to lose
Nothin’, don’t mean nothin’ hon’ if it ain’t free, no-no
And feelin’ good was easy, Lord, when he sang the blues
You know feelin’ good was good enough for me
Good enough for me and my Bobby McGee

From the Kentucky coal mine to the California sun
There Bobby shared the secrets of my soul
Through all kinds of weather, through everything we done
Yeah, Bobby baby, kept me from the cold

One day up near Salinas, Lord, I let him slip away
He’s lookin’ for that home, and I hope he finds it
But, I’d trade all of my tomorrows, for one single yesterday
To be holdin’ Bobby’s body next to mine

Freedom is just another word for nothin’ left to lose
Nothin’, and that’s all that Bobby left me, yeah
But feelin’ good was easy, Lord, when he sang the blues
That feelin’ good was good enough for me, mmm-hmm
Good enough for me and my Bobby McGee

La-da-da, la-da-da-da, la-da-da-da-da-da-da
La-da-da-da-da-da-da-da, Bobby McGee, yeah
La-da-da-da-da, la-da-da-da-da
La, la-la-la-da-da- Bobby McGee, oh yea
h

La-da-da, la-da-da, la, da-da, la, da-da
La-da-da, la-da-da, la-di-da
Hey now, Bobby now, now Bobby McGee, yeah
Lord, oh Lord, oh Lord, lo-da-da, na-na-na, na-na-na, na-na-na
Hey now, Bobby now, now Bobby McGee, yeah

Well, I wanna call him my lover, call him my man
I said, I call him my lover, did the best I can, come on
Hey now, Bobby now, hey now Bobby McGee, yeah
Lord, a Lord, a Lord, a Lord, a Lord, a Lord, a Lord, a Lord, oh
Hey-hey-hey, Bobby McGee, Lord

#Love is in Da Blog

Happy Friday … Hoping for a warmer February <3 Today the prompt for #loveisindablog, “Ukraine or country’s w/turmoil. I don’t keep up on those kind of war troubles, that is just not where I get my joy and music is my Happy Place. The song for today is performed by Ed Sheeran and Andre Bocelli, and they are both from countries (England & Italy) so I’m thinking that counts. I love, love, love this song and they do it so well together. Enjoy This is, “Perfect.”

Perfect

My favorite line in the song is is, “We were just kids when we fell in love.” We were and it’s been an amazing journey, not perfect but it’s as close to perfect as you’re going to get !!! I love you husband <3 …

#JusJoJan/January 15th/

I say, Thank You” for today’s prompt which is,”Gratitude”….I really can’t think of a more meaningful word. I’m trying to stay on task, but I can’t think of anything better to add to this prompt. It can really make you feel wonderful when people are grateful. Gratitude can get you through the darkest of days. I want say, “Thank You,” and I’m grateful for everyone who stops buy and reads my blog. You mean the world to me.

I try to come up with things to help you smile, a painting the artist is painting. A recipe I found and baked and realized this was too good not to share. I just hope I add a little ray of sunshine to someone’s day. Thank you for being in my blogging world, your presence gives me a reason and that is so important now.

Happy Song Lyric Sunday…

Today’s prompt for SLS is the, “Mersey Sound”. Is it a sound, is it a place, is it a type of music??? I’m trying to figure that out, b/c I’m thinking it might be all three.

Beat music

Music genre

Description

Beat music, British beat, or Merseybeat is a British popular music genre that developed, particularly in and around Liverpool, in the late 1950s and early 1960s. The genre melded influences from American rock and roll, rhythm and blues, skiffle, traditional pop and music hall. Wikipedia

Parent genres: RockRhythm and bluesRock and rollDoo-wop

Not having been on my blog for a bit, I’m still trying to get back into the swing of things w/this new format. The Song that I’m using for today will be a safe bet for the prompt as I kind of don’t get as this is the first time I’ve heard of this type of music genre…

The Beatles – She Loves You – “The Mersey Sound” Show

Lyrics

She loves you, yeah, yeah, yeah
She loves you, yeah, yeah, yeah
She loves you, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

You think you’ve lost your love
Well, I saw her yesterday
It’s you she’s thinkin’ of
And she told me what to say

She says she loves you
And you know that can’t be bad
Yes, she loves you
And you know you should be glad

She said you hurt her so
She almost lost her mind
But now she says she knows
You’re not the hurtin’ kind

She says she loves you
And you know that can’t be bad
Yes, she loves you
And you know you should be glad, ooh

She loves you, yeah, yeah, yeah
She loves you, yeah, yeah, yeah
With a love like that
You know you should be glad

You know it’s up to you
I think it’s only fair
Pride can hurt you, too
Apologize to her

Because she loves you
And you know that can’t be bad
Yes, she loves you
And you know you should be glad, ooh

She loves you, yeah, yeah, yeah
She loves you, yeah, yeah, yeah
With a love like that
You know you should be glad

With a love like that
You know you should be glad
With a love like that
You know you should be glad

Yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

Seems like a logical choice as where I’m at with my binge watching. I’m on season 4 of “The Crown”. Having so much fun watching the Queenie. Happy Week Blogger’s Blessings on your Sunday, it’s nice to be back 😉 Scarlet

Good Tuesday, Blogger’s

I guess I’ll be starting from scratch but at least I’m starting !! I’d hoped to have my blog’s new look up and running but not so much. I just have to get busy with AtoZ as we are already on the letter ” D ” OMG…

I started this blog with the idea of writing my cookbook. I am still moving in that direction and AtoZ will keep me focused. I am doing R E C I P E S from the family vault…Not really, but family favorites from Scarlett79.

I’m just going to start with the letter ” C “…Below is my recipe for “Chicken Tortilla Soup.” It is a basic recipe and you can add pretty much anything you want to make it your own. This recipe proved to be a good one for Sunday Afternoon’s with a houseful of guest watching a sporting event. Makes for good leftovers for the week too 😉 ..

Scarlet’s Chicken Tortilla Soup

Let’s just hope this gets a little bit easier as I go and I get back into the groove. I do so enjoy A to Z…Any comments that can help me to get this back to the way it was are welcome. But I’m here for the duration of April. Enjoy the recipes 😉 Love ya Blogger’s and AtoZ’ers…

Questions

Fill in: ‘If I were really completely honest, I would say that …’ This is a question for ‘radical honesty’. What are the things you wouldn’t normally say? Things you would otherwise actually hide?  What’s on your mind? What would you really like to be able to say?
********************************************

I guess I normally don’t speak about my conservative morals & values b/c they aren’t likely to align with today. I don’t really hide them, it’s better just to keep your cards close to the vest. The people that really are important in my life know what they are and that is all that matters. Actually all that truly matters is me, but whatever. I write in my Common Place book quite often and one of the entries way back on February 16, 2013 was

Have you ever broken anything? What about rules?
*******************************************

I suppose that’s all I ever do is break the rules. The question I have to ask myself is who makes the rules?? Isn’t that why rules are made to be broken ?? I don’t care about these wordpress settings that keep changing and altering mid post, whatever…ugghhhhhhh

Are you  also  afraid of spiders? What is your biggest fear, other than spiders?  (if you’re not afraid of spiders, use your biggest phobia instead).
***********************************************

Spiders just creep me out. I mean how can you be afraid of something so small…Just smash it with a shoe or your foot. But whatever you do, don’t have your husband kill it b/c he hates them worse than you do and 9 x’s out of 10 he misses and it disappears under the bed!!! :0 Ahhhh OMGGGGGG

Do you think time goes faster as you get older?
***************************************************

I’m certain it does. Think of your life’s timeline as a roll of toilet paper…At the start it is big and bulky and takes some coaching to come down. When it gets to the end of the roll, well it just spins out of control right til it’s empty 😉 Am I right ??? You know I am 😉

GRATITUDE SECTION (as always, optional)

Please share something that really inspired you from this last week or month.
