Inspiration #118/Hallelujah

Just going through the Reader and came across this prompt from Mr. Jim . When I got up this morning, I’m always thankful for another day, I took the husband to the train…I do wish they would get that bus running again. He use to take it b/c it stopped right in front of the house and I could sleep in. I do like doing whatever and sleeping in, but I don’t mind that much driving him to the train because I get to be with my guy. He always looks so handsome when he’s off to work and he gives me such a nice kiss. Okay, I digress and let’s get back to the prompt, “Inspiration”.

This morning for some reason he just started singing one of our favorite songs, “Hallelujah.” This song truly is a song that embodies the word inspiration. He loves it as do I <3 . When we sing it, I always sing harmony and he does the melody. We are pretty geeky, but who cares 😉 . We are just happy to get all the song lyrics right, this one we know by heart <3 .

Hallelujah

The story behind this song is truly inspirational … They even wrote a book about this song and story behind it. The talent comes from Mr. Leonard Cohen..

My husband, the artist, sketched this out for me. He put this on my desk, where I sit every morning and said to me, “Write !!! You have stories to tell that people would love to read <3 ” It still sitting there, looking back at me. I still need to write. I do have stories to tell. So many, I really need to just write!!

I just don’t want to write about them on-line, I’m from a different generation 😉 . I write in an 80 page, composition notebook til it’s done and then I get another 80 page notebook and start to fill that one up. I guess I don’t want to be around when people read my story. I’m not ashamed of what I wrote, it’s just my story. That’s what writer’s do, they write. Sometimes it’s good, sometimes not so much but I’m the writer so I get to tell the story 😉 . Actually I hope they like it, get inspired from my tales, laugh about my life, and say yes that is definitely my mom <3 . I hope they can feel my presence when they read about my travels through my life. When I read letters from my mom in her handwriting, I know it’s my mom and feel her because I know that’s her handwriting. That’s probably why I write it down, you can see and feel someone through their handwriting…

I’ll close it out for now b/c I have to go cook dinner. It’s breakfast for dinner tonight <3 and it’s time to go…Blessings blogger’s, I’ll leave with one question. “What inspires you?” Blessings and it’s almost Friday… Y A Y <3

Song Lyric Sunday

This is a good one Mr. Jim. Me and the husband just went down his memory lane of when the girls use to dump him. It was always the same. “Let’s be friends, I need some time. I’m scared. ” He says there must be manual girls are given to dump a guy. He is too funny and always makes me laugh.

My song for today is, “Billy Ray Cyrus/Words by Heart”

Words by Heart

I was goin’ through the closet
Back in my old home
Found my letterman’s jacket, so I slipped it on
Deep in the pocket, still folded up tight
Was the letter you wrote to tell me goodbye
The minute I saw it I just had to smile
It smelled like old leather, as smooth as a child
I took a deep breath, then put it away
There was no need to read, I knew just what it would sayI know the words by heart, I know every line
From “this ain’t easy” to “you’ll get along just fine”
I know every comma, every question mark
No, I don’t have to look, I know the words by heartScenes like home movies flash through my head
The homecoming game, that night on my bed
The words that you wrote still cut me in two
How you said you still cared but that we were throughI know the words by heart, I know every line
From “this ain’t easy” to “you’ll get along just fine”
I know every comma, every question mark
No, I don’t have to look, I know the words by heartAin’t it funny how a memory
Can play tricks on your mind
I don’t remember a thing from my classes
But I can quote you every lineI took off my jacket and put it away
With your note in the pocket
Like I found it that day
Poured me a beer, then pictured your face
And drank a silent toast to things that time can’t eraseI know the words by heart, I know every line
From “this ain’t easy” to “you’ll get along just fine”
I know every comma, every question mark
No, I don’t have to look, I know the words by heartI know the words by heart, I know every line
From “this ain’t easy” to “you’ll get along just fine”
I know every comma, every question mark
No, I don’t have to look, I know the words by heart

I also have a second song that I enjoy watching. It reminds me of me back in the day and also sends a message to all my critics…Success is the best revenge. I will never, never quit <3 Blessing Blogger’s on your Sunday…I know I just posted this song by Toby Keith a couple of weeks ago, but I really love it…Obviously 😉

Happy Song Lyric Sunday

Happy Song Lyric Sunday …

This seemed like an appropriate song for today’s prompt from Mr. Jim…

The Bug…Mary Chapin Carpenter

Well it’s a strange old game you learn it slow
One step forward and it’s back you go
You’re standing on the throttle
You’re standing on the brake
In the groove ’til you make a mistake

Sometimes you’re the windshield
Sometimes you’re the bug
Sometimes it all comes together baby
Sometimes you’re just a fool in love
Sometimes you’re the Louisville Slugger
Sometimes you’re the ball
Sometimes it all comes together
Sometimes you’re gonna lose it all

You gotta know happy – you gotta know glad
Because you’re gonna know lonely
And you’re gonna know sad
When you’re rippin’ and you’re ridin’
And you’re coming on strong
You start slippin’ and slidin’
And it all goes wrong because

Sometimes you’re the windshield
Sometimes you’re the bug
Sometimes it all comes together baby
Sometimes you’re just a fool in love
Sometimes you’re the Louisville Slugger
Sometimes you’re the ball
Sometimes it all comes together
Sometimes you’re gonna lose it all

One day you got the glory and then you got none
One day you’re a diamond and then you’re a stone
Everything can change in the blink of an eye
So let the good times roll before we say goodbye because

Sometimes you’re the windshield
Sometimes you’re the bug
Sometimes it all comes together baby
Sometimes you’re just a fool in love
Sometimes you’re the Louisville Slugger
Sometimes you’re the ball
Sometimes it all comes together
Sometimes you’re gonna lose it all

Sometimes you’re the windshield
Sometimes you’re the bug
Sometimes it all comes together baby
Sometimes you’re just a fool in love

Sometimes you’re the windshield
Sometimes you’re the bug
Sometimes it all comes together baby
Sometimes you’re just a fool in love

Two for Tuesday…

Happy Tuesday, blogger’s…It’s always a little harder getting going after a 3 day weekend but I’m up and starting the day. After the 4th a sense of urgency comes on and I feel like, “Summer’s over Mr. Nightlinger 😉 .”

The Artist was busy painting this weekend. I’m really enjoying these past oil paintings. I have already have a spot for them in our home. Don’t worry if you like them, they are on our Amazon Handmade acct. for purchase (at least the pair is) . I still have to load, “Storm Front”.

Also getting busy on my planner/planner area. I’m not even going to post until I’ve got that under control b/c quite frankly it looks like a hot mess…No bother though, I’ll get it together and it will be beautius for sure <3

Since it’s 2/2 Tuesday I thought I’d put up a couple of songs…The first one always makes me smile because I remember times from years gone by where this song makes me feel this way, only I’m not living in their radio probably just their head 😉 and it’s rent free 😉 …

How do you like me now/Toby Keith <3

It’s going to be a busy week b/c I only have 4 days to work with…Appts., houseclean, menu plan & groceries, Target run of course, yadayadayadayda…I’ve also got so behind in my, “10 Year Journal” I’m determined to get caught up on it !!! Oh and I’ve got to fit a mani/pedi in there somewhere, ahhhhh 😉 . I know, I’m spoiled. It’s the husband’s fault. He’s a great guy <3 and I love him to pieces <3

My second choice for my song today is, “Perfect”. The husband and me always give each other songs and he gave me this one. He said it reminds him of us b/c we were just kids when we met and fell into forever with each other (he was 20 and I was 16 😉 ), 42nd wedding anniversary this year… Together 45 years, OMG <3 .

“Perfect” Andrea Bocelli & Ed Sheehan <3

Have a great week and get busy…Summer’s over Mr. Jebediah Nightlinger 😉 …

p.s We use to do Community Theatre every summer and I came across this picture of one of the shows we did…How did you think the kiddos became professional dancer’s, singer’s, musicians ??? It wasn’t by accident, Mom and Dad had a little something to do with it. Uber talented family, started with my mom 😉 and everyone has the DNA…I was a piano player and the husband is the Artist (not his day job, OMG starving artist, I don’t think so 😉 ) …Even though they all took a different direction, they were amazing on stage performing, of course I may be a bit prejudice. 😉 …

Monday’s Masterpiece

Good Monday morning <3 Hoping everyone had a safe and happy 4th of July…The Artist and me had a wonderful weekend…Road Trip out to our fav places from back in the day 😉

Then on Sunday the 4th was a chill kind of day w/the Artist painting and me planning…Love, love, love to plan. Today will just be a reset kind of day where we keep wondering what day it is 😉 Does that happen to anyone else on these 3 day weekends ???

The other painting he just started yesterday, but I’m thinking it’s going to be a fav of mine !!! Don’t forget you can visit our Handmade by Amazon site and purchase any of his amazing artwork…Just follow the link <3

The weekend started out really great with me and the granddaughter getting our hair done, Chic Filet for lunch and then of course Starbucks to top off the fun day…

So much fun at the salon…Shout out to our forever beauty stylist…Mz. Lisa <3 Thank you so much for making us beautiful again <3 . Oh and I can’t forget the flower’s my wonderful husband bought for me <3 .

Back to business this week, a lot of irons in the fire. Starting a major remodel on the home but then by the end of this year it will all be done. I will update with pics of our beautius home. Let’s enjoy the rest of the summer. Busy, busy month w/birthday’s, anniversary (42nd <3 ) and vacation to New Smyrna Beach, Florida Y A Y !!!! Blessings Blogger’s on your Monday <3 … 😉

Happy Fourth of July…Y A Y & Song Lyric Sunday

Happy 4th of July

This is one of my favorite holiday’s !!! It’s summer, I love to BBQ on the grill, Fireworks are just the best…What’s not to love. Still missing the carnivals and summer concerts !!! Next year will be better I hope that we can get back to the summer festivals and concerts. I’m really missing those, at least I have the memories which will have to do for now. Jim’s pick for today’s Song Lyric Sunday is, “American Music <3 ” I remember a staple of our’s in summers past. They were of course the, “Ides of March” summer concerts at the festivals we use to go too. So much fun. The Ides are a Chicago staple, Jim Peterik who is the lead singer of the band is a native of Berwyn (a suburb of Chicago).

Summerfest, Milwaukee…Me and Jim Peterik <3

Because they were a local we always got seats right up front and Jim Peterik kind of got to know us. In fact at one of their concerts he came right down in the audience and kissed me during the song, “Searching.” I’ll never forget, it was the thrill of a lifetime 😉 .

My song for today is one of their biggest hits and he always waits til the end of the concert, i.e. the last song to play it…That would be, “Vehicle” of course !!!

He really is an amazing artist, performer, singer, writer, yadayadayada <3 An all around great guy. Makes you feel like your just one of his friends <3 I’ll be looking forward to seeing him and his band, the Ides performing again <3 …

Hope all of you are enjoying your summer and having the best 4th of July ever. Eat all the great food you can and celebrate this country. Because I’ve always said, “If your lucky enough to live in America, then you are lucky enough !!!”
