Song Lyric Sunday

Happy December…Y A Y   We had a wonderful Thanksgiving !!!  I hope all my blogger friends did too.  Family, food and so much fun, I am truly blessed.  I’ll post about all of the festivities later, now onto Song Lyric Sunday.

The prompt for today comes from Mr. Jim/newepicauthor “Chin/Ears/Eyes/Face/Mouth/Nose.”  Today’s Song will be, “These Eyes” by the Guess Who.  Really one of my fav’s a group from the 70’s. The husband just informed me that this band is still going, different members though.  Burton Cummings wrote many of the songs and Randy Bachman went onto (Bachman Turner Overdrive)…Just a little factoid i.e. trivia to pack away if you need it someday 😉 …

These Eyes
These eyes, cry every night for you
These arms, long to hold you again
The hurtings on me, yeah
I will never be free, no, my baby, no no
You gave a promise to me, yeah
And you broke it, and you broke it, oh no
These eyes watched you bring my world to an end
This heart could not accept and pretend
The hurtings on me, yeah
I will never be free, no, no, no
You took the vow with me, yeah
And you spoke it, and you spoke it, babe
These eyes, are crying
These eyes have seen a lot of loves
But they’re never gonna see another one like I had with you
These eyes, are crying
These eyes have seen a lot of loves
But they’re never gonna see another one like I had with you
These eyes, are crying
These eyes have seen a lot of loves
But they’re never gonna see another one like I had with you
These eyes, cry every night for you
These arms, these arms long to hold you, hold you again
These eyes, are crying
These eyes have seen a lot of loves
But their never gonna see another one like I had with you
These eyes, are crying
These eyes have seen a lot of loves
But their never gonna see another one like I had with you
These eyes, are crying
These eyes have seen a lot of loves
But their never gonna see another one like I had with you
These eyes, are crying
These eyes have seen a lot of loves
But their never gonna see another one like I had with you
Baby, baby, baby, baby
Don’t ya know these…

Enjoy your Sunday blogger’s and all of the leftovers from turkey day.  Christmas is on its way.  Already have two Christmas movies under my belt, “We’re No Angels” starring Humphrey Bogart, Peter Ustinov and Aldo Rey.  Leo G. Carol was the shop keeper, from 1955.  Of course this is the first time I watched, “It’s A Wonderful Life !”  I know I’ll watch it a number of times this holiday season…Great Movie.
Weather is getting wonky, snow and cold and yes I’m afraid it’s winter.  We didn’t even get Indian Summer this year 😦 .

  1. The factoid i.e. trivia is what makes Song Lyric Sunday so much fun for me, so please continue doing that. It is always Indian Summer here in Florida during winter. It was great to hear this song again Scarlet, thanks for sharing.
