AtoZChallenge…is “W” for The Wizard of Oz

UnknownY A Y…”W” is for the movie, “Wizard of Oz.”  This is right up there with my all time favorite movies.  Love the tornado in the beginning.  Love when it goes from black to color.  The music is just amazing.

The Quotes well, we all know what great ones came out of that movie !!!  I’m pretty sure that everyone reading this at one time in their life they wished that alls they needed to do is click their heels 3 times and say, “There’s no place like home, there’s no place like home.”

And let’s not forget that amazing song, “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.”

There are going to be quite a lot o quotes from this movie, so bare with me as I’m not going to put them all up…

Dorothy: How can you talk, if you haven’t got a brain?

Scarecrow: I don’t know. But, some people without brains do an awful lot of talking, don’t they?

Dorothy: Yes. I guess, you’re right.

Dorothy: [has just arrived in Oz, looking around and awed at the beauty and splendor] Toto, I’ve a feeling we’re not in Kansas any more.

Dorothy: [after a pause] We must be over the rainbow!

[a bubble appears in the sky and gets closer and closer. It finally lands, then turns into Glinda the Good Witch wearing a spectacular white dress and crown, holding a wand]

Dorothy: [to Toto] Now I… I know we’re not in Kansas!

Dorothy: Lions, and tigers, and bears! Oh, my!

Wizard of Oz: A heart is not judged by how much you love; but by how much you are loved by others.

Wicked Witch of the West: Just try and stay out of my way. Just try! I’ll get you, my pretty, and your little dog, too!
Dorothy: There’s no place like home.
I just really had to put this up!!!
I’m really going to go watch this again…Love it !!!

  1. Another one of my favorites too, Patti! I watched this with our first daughter when she was about 4 or 5 and I was afraid she might get scared but she loved it too. Our favorite memory is of her saying, “The trees were WINDY” and we say that still whenever it is windy out (she is now 31 – lol). Thanks for sharing this one.
