AtoZChallenge: G…Gone With the Wind

I started the AtoZChallenge in 2016 with a generic plan of AtoZ, as I was new to the blogosphere and had so much to learn.  I met many knew friends and learned much about blogging.  Very great experience.  For the  2017 AtoZChallenge I thought I would step out of the box and do the challenge with a theme. I have a love of Hockey and our Chicago Blackhawks were headed for the playoffs again.  The timing of that theme would be spot on.   I grew my blog and continued learning about blogging and Hockey.  So begins the 2018 AtoZChallenge and my theme this year is Quotes made famous by the movies.  I hope you are enjoying this as much as I am enjoying writing and researching.  I have also came across this thing called, “Blog Hop.”   I’m going to have to learn more about this.  Looks like fun and feel free anyone to explain it to me.  That’s one thing that I love about blogging, always something knew to learn about.

“G” is for Gone With the Wind.  One of my all time favorite movies.  This Blog, “Scarlett79” should say it all to you.  “As God is my witness” also on my blog’s title.  Definitely a movie that I watch at least twice a year…First let’s start out with some fun facts, in case you didn’t know.

Epic Civil War drama focuses on the life of petulant southern belle Scarlett O’Hara (Vivien Leigh). Starting with her idyllic on a sprawling plantation, the film traces her survival through the tragic history of the South during the Civil War and Reconstruction, and her tangled love affairs with Ashley Wilkes (Leslie Howard) and Rhett Butler (Clark Gable).

Now for just a few of the most memorable quotes.  I didn’t realize there were so many.  I would have to do two blog’s to get them all covered 😉  Really there were just so many, these are just a few…

Scarlett: Rhett, Rhett… Rhett, if you go, where shall I go? What shall I do?

Rhett Butler: Frankly, my dear, I don’t give a damn.gone-with-the-wind-classic-movie-quotes-36830203-800-588

Rhett Butler: No, I don’t think I will kiss you, although you need kissing, badly. That’s what’s wrong with you. You should be kissed and often, and by someone who knows how.

Rhett Butler: You’re like the thief who isn’t the least bit sorry he stole, but is terribly, terribly sorry he’s going to jail.

Scarlett: Sir, you are no gentleman.

Rhett Butler: And you, Miss, are no lady.b8322c5fa45279ede673e0077cdceee8

Rhett Butler: I can’t go all my life waiting to catch you between husbands.

Scarlett: Rhett, don’t. I shall faint.

Rhett Butler: I want you to faint. This is what you were meant for. None of the fools you’ve ever know have kissed you like this, have they? Your Charles, or your Frank, or your stupid Ashley.

I thought I would just leave you with this picture on the movie.  I think it’s why we all love to go see it.  Easy on the eyes for 3 hours, plus  ❤3c12491bdb8744cb6463dd0a50a0ba64

  1. Made me laugh, especially the one quote about between husbands. I had a dear friend I worked with who had been married four times and he said to me once, why didn’t we ever get together? I told him I couldn’t keep waiting to catch him between wives!

  2. One of my all time favorites too! Thanks for sharing the little known facts. Maybe I’ll have to watch this one again soon.

  3. I made the mistake of going to see “Gone With The Wind” with a couple of friends when we were all 14. You can imagine the kind of disaster that was… Now, I live near Atlanta, and GWTW is almost a cottage industry.

    • 14 years old and you were boys, well that must have been a little slice oh hell … I think I was not much older the first time I saw it. My mom dragged all of girls to the theatre, but I remember kind of loving it even then ♥️
