November’s Thankful 30

Good Thursday Morning to all.  Did anyone see that wedding proposal after the Houston Astro’s won the World Series???  OMG that was so cool and did you get a look at the diamond ??? I would’ve said yes if he were a rock.  Oh wait that’s what he gave her, a huge rock.  I’m sure you’ll like that Mz. Cheryl because that’s what we all look for first 😉 right.  Okay, enough about that, back to my thankful 30.

So when I got into bed last night, I always think about what I’ll blog about tomorrow.  Then I get usually get my book that I’m reading.   This one is a really positive book that plants inspiration.

My thankful 30 isn’t about this book, it’s really about any book, magazine, newspaper, yadayadayada.  I am so thankful for being able to read, and read anything I want.  The choices of what to read are endless.  I realized how reading transports you to anywhere or you can become anything you can dream of.  Now I know it’s not that easy, but reading is.

I became a reader after I got married.   The husband was a reader.  After we got married I really found out just how much of a reader he was.  Being a new bride and wanting all of his attention all of the time, I was kind of taken back by him preferring a book over me.  I just secretly said to myself, “Just leave him alone. He’ll be done with that book soon and then he’ll pay some attention to me.”  I had no idea how many books there were and he was going to read them all.  I decided right then, if you can’t beat him, join him.  I think that’s how the saying goes.

I am just thankful for being able to read.  It truly is one of the greatest gifts that we can have.  Blessings and thanks for reading.  Have a great day ❤  Oh one more very important item, my Blackhawk’s won last night !!!!  WOO HOO

  1. Saw that proposal. So cute. Very glad the Astros one – HATE the Dodgers! I had the same issue with my hubby only it wasn’t reading, it was sports. I learned early on if I was going to spend any time with him I had to get into sports. I chose baseball as my favorite. I know some football but not a lot. I’m the reader. He reads the newspaper front to back and magazines like Rolling Stone and Readers Digest but not books very often. Nice post, Patti!

    • Thanks so much for visiting. I too am a sports widow. I am very much a, “Hockey Mom.” I do like baseball, but I’m a White Sox fan and a huge Blackhawks fan. But I’m sure you know that already. Have a great weekend. ❤
