Thankful and Grateful

I think I’ll put some music to my post this Saturday evening.  It’s one of my fav’s ❤

I’m also going to put up the sketch the husband did for me that sits on my desk of Leonard Cohen, the writer of this beautiful song.  It’s a very inspiring story of how he wrote this song.  I keep it right in front of me for a daily dose of my own inspirations and hope…

So I haven’t been around too much.  Not sure why, but this was a very hard week.  We lost our beloved, little sweet kitty Mr. Louie.  He died so suddenly and was just the last thing I ever expected to happen last weekend.  It was the holiday, 4th of July weekend.  He got ill on Saturday, stopped eating and drinking and crying every time he walked. I really just thought he would get over it.  We have 2 dogs and I thought he’s just sick and he’ll get over it.  Well by Sunday night, he really was circling the drain and we rushed him to an all night animal hospital and it was too late.  He was gone.  It was a blockage of some kind in the urinary track.  I guess it’s common in male cats.  So me and the husband have been kind of off all week. There's the pack...Ms. Elsa Mae, Bella and Mr. Louie

Well back to the title of my post, “Thankful & Grateful”…I really am thankful for so much in my life.  I’m married to the love of my life, best friend for 38 years this August.  We have a really cozy little place that keeps us warm and dry.  Yesterday I went to the eye doctor and for some reason whenever I go get my eyes checked (it’s been 2 + years since my last check-up) I am so happy that I can do that.  I got new glasses and now I will be able to continue to read, watch TV and live.IMG_2458

I really try not take the little things for granted because the little things make the big things so much easier.  So I say, “Thank You,” to my husband for getting up and going to work and taking such good care of me for all of these years.  I say, “Thank You,” to God the Father up above for all of our blessings and giving us another day.  I am also so thankful that I live in this great country, the United States of America where I am free to live my life how I choose to.  Always remember to say, “Thank You.”  ❤

  1. Love Bon Jovi. So sorry about your kitty, although better to go fast than to suffer, don’t you think? We all need to count our blessings more. Thanks for sharing, Patti.

    • I suppose but he was so young, why did he even have to go… We will meet again I hope, and I would never want him to suffer. Blessings and thanks for stopping by ❤️❤️

  2. I love that you see the blessings in your life and are so grateful for them, no matter how big or small. There are people out there that never do. Love you!
