#atozchallenge/’T’ for Top Shelf & Toews

Glossary of ice hockey terms

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Top shelf The upper area of the goal, just below the crossbar and above the goaltender’s shoulders. Also known colloquially as “where momma hides the cookies.
Besides explaining ‘Top Shelf’ goals, I’m going to show you a top shelf goal in the video above.  Of course it’s from Toews, The Captain of the Chicago Blackhawks. I’m giving him his dues he earned this year.  Not so much of an excuse but a reason he struggled this year.  He was injured in the beginning of the season so I’m pretty sure that compromised some of his play. When he’s on, it’s a beautiful thing to watch and you understand why he’s the Captain !!!
