They call me Metal Momma

Really it’s true.  I’ll tell you story.  We all know what it’s like raising our kids.  We all know how they can take the truth and let’s say soften it, bend it to get things going their way.  Mine are no different.  It’s been awhile since I have heard their stories.   They are all grown now and I think we did a pretty good job if I say so myself.

This was about my 2 youngest, the professional dancer’s, the theater guys.  It was when they were in Milwaukee that I was first introduced by them to their love of Metal Music.  I didn’t know what it was and quite frankly I didn’t care.  They were good guys, and I’m pretty sure it wasn’t my thing and also my control over their choices was over.   They referred to it as, “Christian Rock.”  One of the bands name was, “Lamb of God.”   As a mother (and really I don’t want the details) I thought go for it.  I knew it was probably pretty out there, so I just looked the other way.  They were adults and hey the older brother was watching out for the younger brother.  They were together so I figured they would keep each other out of trouble and keep other honest.

Long story short, they moved out east and became friends with the lead singer of Lamb of God.  On a couple of our visits I had the pleasure of meeting D.Randall Blythe who is also a published author.   His book is, “Dark Days, a memoir”.  That is a picture of the family at his book signing in Richmond It is a very interesting read and you should really get it and read it.  Very, very cool guy ❤

I’m sure if you have followed my blog you know about the husband’s artwork.  He did a picture of Randy (the metal rocker dude) and his band’s name Lamb of God.  I asked him if we could promote the picture on our website and he said he didn’t mind.   We gave the picture to him when we were out there last year.

So if there are any metal heads who read my blog, go give it a look.  I think it turned out really great.   He’s a great guy and I’m proud to say he’s my friend.   For my boys, he’s a brother from another mother <3.  Thanks Randy, Love ya ❤
