Good Sunday morning fellow blogger’s or I mean afternoon. This is going to be one of those days where you never seem to catch up to the time a.k.a. daylight savings time. I don’t mind them because it is a change and you are moving forward into a different season. A season of awakening. New growth outside. Trees, flowers, planting season. I am so looking forward to my rose bushes and this year I am going to try to plant a fairy garden. I got a picture of my tree Season’s this morning, looks like she’s got something trying to come back to life. I’m sure with the rain (ugh) and some nice warm sunshine it will be any day now. Here’s a picture of my “Weather Station-Froggy”. I no, I’m not to creative with the names, the husband is the one for that. But for now it will just be Froggy 😉
I haven’t decided if I am going to do some new landscaping this year. Not sure if we will be here, so I’m just going to have to wait to see how things develop. I hope I am because I hate, hate moving and we just got the house fixed up the way we wanted it, but I wouldn’t mind moving because I’m tired of living in the Midwest. So it’s just something to think about, but I’m pretty sure if we buy something it won’t be here…
We didn’t go on the road trip this weekend because it was just too rushed. The husband got asked to go Washington D.C. at the end of the month on business so we are just going to drive back Connor’s car then. I am going to go with him and it should be a great trip. It’s when the Cherry Blossom Festival is taking place in D.C. I have never been so that is going to be great, plus the weather will be warmer. It won’t be as rushed and we can fly back on the weekend. I will have time to plan the trip. The only down side is we may have lost the flight credit, but I’m suppose call to check it out and see if they can work a deal out with me.
It is a windy, raw & rainy March Sunday in the Midwest so I am just going to stay in all day and make my Baked Potato Soup with some Blueberry Mini Pies. Baking is so comforting to me and I love, love my kitchen. Probably will start cleaning out the cabinets and making a re-stock list for the spring/summer months. You know you start cooking differently when the seasons change, salads, BBQ, sandwiches. You move to the lighter side, because you want to be outside walking and fussing with you gardens & plants. Cleaning the garage, sitting on the deck reading and drinking ice tea. Or maybe just doing nothing and sitting on your stoop, watching the world go round and round. Feeling blessed to have my life. I’m healthy. Still loving the husband after all these years, he’s still the one !!! Of course my animals. How lucky am I to have them and be able to care for them. They truly make our house a home. They rarely leave my side and our new kitty, Mr. Louie is adjusting well. They are getting along rather well. Louie just has to settle down a bit otherwise they will be able to live together quite nicely. Bella wants to play with him, Miss Elsa just wants him to leave her alone and of course Mr. Louie being a cat, wants to stalk them !!! They are so much fun to watch 😉
So for the day I am going to be in the basement looking for somethings. The husband has to come with me down there because of all of the ghosts, I need to keep focused on what I am looking for. I think I am going to start my book of all my recipes from old. So many stories to go along with them. I want a cookbook with all of the great recipes from the past. I am also going to work on my blog and try to finish up the website, i.e. get my web designer the changes he needs to finish up with. Last but certainly not least, I’m going to set up my Planner Library. I got some stickers yesterday that I ordered and I really need to get them organized, my planner supplies. Here’s a look at my planner’s. I started using a new one for the weekly planner. I think Websterspages will work better for the weekly one for now and it keeps things new and fresh.
So that’s it for today. I’m going to make a brunch and bake something yummy probably with my Maine blueberries. Start a fire (in the fireplace) make some tea to have with my blueberry pies. Watch some Netflix, my Blackhawk’s are not on till tomorrow. They really need to get this team working together. I think that all of the new additions, well they just don’t have a really good rhythm yet. Of course Hossa being injured and Rosival being day to day has slowed the process, but we have still have time.
Well I hope you all have had a great weekend and are looking forward to more daylight in the coming week. Remember it’s a new week with infinite possibilities so plan, and don’t waste any of it. And remember it’s St. Patrick’s Day this week, and no that doesn’t mean, “oh great a reason to go out and get drunk.” Do something fun, like make a corned beef dinner with some corn bread and honey butter. Wear green and remember everyone is Irish on St. Patrick’s Day.
An Irish Toast
May your glass be ever full. May the roof over your head be always strong.
And may you be in heaven
half an hour before the devil knows you’re dead
