This is my road trip video. I put it up for my guys, I know they like these guys and they are pretty tame to some of the other stuff. Enjoy the beginning of the, “Frain’s Road Trip to the Winter Classic !!” Happy Wednesday, Y*all. This was what we were doing in preparation for the big game…
This was a challenging holiday season as we had suffered a few losses but we Frain’s just power through the parts of life that aren’t so pretty. We are a strong family and we won’t quit because if you don’t quit, you don’t lose. So with that said here is our version of the, “Road to the Winter Classic.”
We are huge Chicago Blackhawks fans and we love sports. It was a dream to be able to go to the Winter Classic and it was in Washington D.C. Our boys our out east and we were going to see them this Christmas and go to their ballet the Nutcracker. We had never seen the guys dance in this Nutcracker and Matthew was dancing his first principle role with the ballet. He was Snow King. Connor was a Russian. We love, love
Not being that far from D.C. it would have been the perfect thing to top off the Holidays, going to the Winter Classic. Tickets cost dearly and we had a little extra money so we just went for it. You only live once and how many other times will you get to go see the Winter Classic with your guys and the Chicago Blackhawks. Oh and btw they’re going to with the Stanley Cup this year (I didn’t say that because I don’t want to jinx it but they are, woo hoo !!!) The most fun was buying the tickets and telling Connor. He was so blown away. It was worth it just to see his reaction. Then of course we all needed new sweaters (I call them jersey’s) but they say they are sweaters mom, they look like jerseys to me. Oh well back to the story. Okay that put us back a pretty penny, but again so worth it.
Okay I think we should go back to the beginning. After the Show (The Nutcracker) everyone needs to decompress so we went out to the Ocean for few days, Here’s the video on the way to the ocean.
Once their we just chilled and watched the ocean. Ate good food and watched the real, “Road to the Winter Classic,” on-line because it wasn’t on cable or anything. It was great, we all came into our hotel room and got on the bed with the computer and watched it, ate snick snacks, drank coke. A real exercise in family bonds. I look at the picture of that moment and it made me feel like we did something right when raising our kids.
It was a blast.
So onto the next day which is New Year’s Eve. Day before the Winter Classic. We had a wonderful couple of days at the ocean but now it’s time to get ready for the festivities. I also had a New Year’s planned ritual. I wrote down all of what I wanted to let go of for 2014 (and there was plenty), put it in a plastic bottle, sorry to the environmentalist, and throw it in the Atlantic Ocean. It was good and it felt right. I took a video of that. Here are those two videos of that. They are fun, besides you kind of get to see who we are 🙂 The fun loving, life living Frain’s ❤ And the second video, throwing away 2014 into the Atlantic Ocean. Goodbye and hello to 2015
Now we are back on the road again, heading for an evening at the Jefferson Hotel and a celebration New Year’s Eve dinner with my favorite guys.
Here are some more pictures of this amazing hotel. The room was beautiful and the stairs have a story. It’s called the legend of the stairs. Supposedly they are the stair that were in, “Gone With the Wind!!” My favorite movie of all times. I took a picture of them and asked the husband to carry me up them, he said no. Party pooper 😦 We had fun anyways…
Well we had a perfectly wonderful celebration for New Year’s Eve. Dinner at the Jefferson with my favorite guys. Now the pressure is on. Connor has told me that he is going to call me at 7 am and wake me up because he wants to leave by 9 am, OMG. I’m not a morning person and I have a lot to do to get looking my beautiful self 🙂 Better get to sleep early, 2015 will have to come in w/o me…
