Here is my song for the day, while you read my entry. Enjoy ❤
So my lenten journey continues. So today is Sunday so my first obligation is to attend church and pray the rosary.
I woke up kind of early for even a Sunday. It was about 7:30 am when I woke up to my Bella who was breathing on me with her hot breath and that look of I’m hungry and I want to go out!!! So realizing that it was Sunday morning, I just thought it would be good to get up and get going early so I was up. I let the husband sleep a little longer as he works hard all week and the extra sleep will do him good, plus I get can some quiet time to myself with my coffee.
Took care of the doggies, and made my coffee. Warmed up the house. Turned on the fireplace and my two space heaters. I live in a kind of an old house that needs new windows so it’s not a real warm house. We just rent and I won’t invest that kind of money in a property that I don’t own so I’ll just solve the problem rather than fix it. The heaters work good and so we are comfortable and it’s not too hard on the utility bills. Besides I kind of like getting the, “Home fires burning !! I have also started making breakfast for just me and my husband. It is very nice, quiet and intimate. I bought a juicer and I have been making fresh juice, it is absolutely wonderful. I make a good, warm stick to ribs get the day going, kind of breakfast. It feels really good to cook and eat at home. We both are feeling so much more healthy and energetic although we still like our Starbucks on the weekend.
So this past week, I didn’t do as well as I did the first week of lent. Fasting went well, but the praying and almsgiving were a little weak. There was a lot going on and some fires that needed putting out so I was kind of distracted. My youngest who is a professional dancer called me very upset from the hospital. He was playing basketball with the other dancer’s and rolled his ankle. So he’ll be sitting for 3 weeks in an air cast. For a professional dancer, that is a major tragedy. He’s afraid of losing his spot which is a real fear. I told him he has been very lucky as this is his first injury that has prevented him from dancing. He was lucky because it was just a sprain on some tendons as oppose to a tear. It was just unfortunate he got an injury when he wasn’t even dancing. Well so much for that, now back to my subject. That’s Connor on the left, Matthew is the Dancing Bear ❤ Richmond Ballet’s Nutcracker 2014
Today in mass the priest talked about this journey of lent so I really sat up an listened because that is how I was referring to this lenten season. He said first we should look at our past with gratitude, look at the present with passion and look at the future with hope. I thought that was just a perfect way to look at my journey. Gratitude, passion and hope are all things that I can relate to in my life. So this coming week I am going to try to do better and work on creating a better version of myself with prayer, fasting and almsgiving. Happy Sunday and have a great week. I’ll let you know how it goes ❤
